SpaceX is preparing its first demo premiums for NASA's commercial mission program, which aims to restore the ability of American spacecraft to transport astronauts into space.
The rocket company plans to use Tesla Model X vehicles as the first astronauts to fly to the launch pad in the crew ship Crew Dragon
It seems to be the most recent example of a synergy between the two main companies of Elon Musk.
Earlier this year, we reported on the collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX in developing new materials for use on Earth and in space
Now we learn that SpaceX uses Tesla's Model X as part of its crew program ,
In a recent NASA report on the progress of SpaceX, which led to the first launch, they wrote about a dry run of the process to bring the astronauts on board Spacecraft:
"Successful dry run on the day of the launch Closeout- Crew procedures with representative crew members, space suits and Model X. "
SpaceX has a full timetable for the launches by the end of the year, which they are now following for the crew's first demo launch in November.
Musk seems to make these little collaborations between Tesla and SpaceX.
Other current examples include Tesla's Roadster Package "SpaceX"
The CEO also spoke of a cyborg Dragon Tesla, it's not clear yet what it's going to be, but we've speculated that it's some kind of Mars Rover using the SpaceX Dragon technology combined with Tesla's vehicle technology.
I think there are a lot of cool things to do in the pipeline between Tesla and SpaceX.
