The blog Electrek said Tesla would change its naming convention, leaving the names of the car models no longer based on their battery. For example, the Model S P100D is now referred to as Model S Performance, much like the iterations of Model 3 are named. Tesla lowered the price of base model S and X model vehicles by $ 1,000 to $ 85,000 and $ 88,000, respectively. Earlier this month, Tesla had dropped the cheapest 75 kWh battery offerings of the Model S and Model X and lowered the prices of its three vehicle lines by $ 2,000 to offset the phasing out of tax incentives at the beginning of the year sent to your inbox.
