Feel like filling the limited space on your phone with apps, photos, and videos? In the near future, your smartphone could be shipped with more than one terabyte (1TB) of internal memory and run ten times faster than a standard memory card.
Samsung is best known for making smartphones, but the company's storage division – one of its most profitable units – just announced that mass production of a 1 TB flash memory chip for mobile phones is beginning. There is not a word about when they will be in smartphones, but Samsung said it intends to increase production in the first half of this year.
"Smartphone enthusiasts will soon be able to enjoy storage capacities comparable to a premium notebook PC without having to pair their cell phones with additional memory cards," Samsung said.

Samsung said its new technology can reach speeds of up to 1,000 megabytes per second (MB / s) – that would allow a transfer 5GB of full HD video to be transmitted in just five seconds, unlike almost one Minute with conventional microSD cards. Increased memory also allows for better video recording in high resolution thanks to faster random reading speed.
Sounds good, but could this ship be shipped before the end of the year? The Samsung rumor mill is already speculating that the upcoming Galaxy Note 10 could include a 1 TB model, but at this point there is no concrete evidence. Look for future leaks for more information.
