Maybe everything is really bigger in Texas. At 14 pounds (13 ounces), parents of Ali James Medlock were told that their son is the heaviest baby ever born in Texas at Health Arlington Memorial Hospital near Dallas.
A Texas Health Resources spokesperson confirmed to USA Today that to their knowledge, Ali is the largest hospital-born baby.
He was released on December 12 on the cesarean section. The doctor who delivered him said that Ali is the heaviest baby he has brought into the world in his more than 30-year career.

] Jennifer Medlock, Ali's mother, told Laredo's KVTV-TV that she expected her child to be about 10 pounds would weigh, much like Ali's big sister Annabelle, who arrived at 9 pounds and 10 ounces and was also delivered via Caesarean section.
"We did not expect 14 pounds," said the proud mother. "Nobody did that."
