Motorola has already released updates for its Moto G and Moto Z models this year. Now it's time for the moto E entry-level model with a $ 149 Moto E6. And for that low price you get just as much phone as you would expect.
This year, E6 is the only model in the budget line (compared to last year, in which three different E5, E5 Play, and E5 Plus models). This price is just under $ 199.99 for the Moto G7 Play and gives Motorola a mobile phone in increments of $ 50 each, from $ 149 to $ 299.
The new Moto E6 came closest to last year's E5, but has a smaller 5.5-inch display (up from 5.7 inches last year) and a battery charged to 3,000 mAh from 4,000 mAh – but this time it is removable, which is nice. For internal specifications, RAM and memory are the same – 2GB and 16GB onboard respectively – but the processor was equipped with a Snapdragon 435 from the Snapdragon 427 last year, which is 50 percent faster, according to Motorola.
It does have a headphone jack, but for some reason Motorola still sticks to a micro USB port instead of USB-C, even though it's 2019. I assume that this is the case This is done to keep costs down, as there are not many other reasons to use the old port.
New is a "water-repellent design" made of a P2i nano-coating – it's not waterproof and has no IP rating, but it could survive a bit of rain or a lapping, which is better than nothing. The biggest changes have been made to the camera, which has been upgraded to a 13-megapixel lens and now supports some of Motorola's fancier tricks. B. Spot Color and Portrait Modes.
All of this does not lead to the most exciting phone or even the most exciting update of the Moto E range, but it's up to you to meet the entry-level Motorola award without feeling out of date.
The Moto E6 will be available this summer in the US and Canada for $ 149.
