ATLANTA (WSB / CNN) – The Georgia Department of Health is investigating three confirmed cases of Legionnaires' Disease that may have come from a downtown Atlanta hotel.
The Sheraton Hotel has been closed until further notice.
A number of guests complained about lung problems after a session a few weeks ago.
Legionnaire's disease is a type of lung infection caused by bacteria that live in warm water by inhaling the bacteria.
The Sheraton issued this statement on Monday night: "The health and safety of our guests is our top priority, and we are working closely with health authorities and outside experts to test if they are legionella The Sheraton Atlanta is currently working to relocate its guests to nearby Hot Point Upcoming reservations will also contact guests to direct them to other nearby hotels ̵
