Syracuse, New York. – The Syracuse basketball team beat Miami (73-53) on Thursday in the Carrier Dome. The orange improved to 14-5 (5-1 ACC).
Take a look at SU's best and worst performances against hurricanes (9-9, 1-5 ACC).
Frank Howard built Miami's early six-point lead at a slightly earlier pace. Howard intercepted a pass near the Miami base line when many defenders may not have been attentive. The transfer led to a 3-point play by Oshae Brissett and reduced Miami's lead to 17-14. Moments later, Howard pressed a 3-pointer to make it 17.
Elijah Hughes put his block in the first half with a block in the second half. Hughes called for a dunk attempt by Zach Johnson on the edge and stuffed the ball near his crown. The Carrier Dome crowd burst into a standing ovation.
