The iPhone 11, which is equipped with two lenses, costs from 699 US dollars. Contact us for $ 50 for additional storage and you'll have a two-camera phone with two storage capacities at the same price as the iPhone XR.
The iPhone 11 is emerging at a time when manufacturers – including Apple – have raised the bar for charging a premium smartphone. In a way, it's a reaction to lukewarm market reception for phones costing over $ 1,000. With declining sales of industrial smartphones and the pain of Apple itself, the company had to become more aggressive.
"As iPhone sales decline and 5G are at least a year away, Apple must give consumers a reason to upgrade today," said Avi Greengart, an analyst at Techsponential.
If Apple lowers the price of the iPhone 11, the price for a winner can double. According to IHS, the iPhone XR was the best-selling phone in the first half of the year.
Even though the iPhone 11 Pro and its larger Pro Max siblings are attracting a lot of attention from technology fans, everyone else will probably be interested in the iPhone 11.
When Apple unveiled the iPhone XR a year ago, the company presented it as value play, which goes hand in hand with the luggage of the budget mobile. (Do you remember the?)
The iPhone 11, which, like the XR, has lower specifications than the iPhone 11 Pro, debuted on Tuesday as the successor to the iPhone XS. Apple's message: This is the iPhone for everyone, while the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are for professionals and hardcore fans.
"These are the most powerful and impressive iPhones we've ever built," said Apple CEO Tim Cook of all devices. (To be honest, he says such things are common on Apple products.)
However, the time spent on the iPhone 11 is confirmation that not everyone has to spend more than $ 1,000 on a new smartphone.
"The trends in smart phone updating have slowed as consumers are not buying premium devices that start at over $ 1,000," said Lynnette Luna, an analyst at Global Data. "In the eyes of consumers, these expensive models of differentiation and innovation have been lacking to justify spending."
Between the iPhone XR and the iPhone 8, which is still on the market, there are cheaper options for Apple fans who do not have a lot of disposable income.
This is important as Apple tries to convince owners of older iPhones who are not likely to get used to the sticker shock of its high-end offerings to upgrade to a new device.
Affordable Services Also
There's another reason why Apple is so keen that more people buy their phones: the services. The company aims to expand its customer base and steer it to offerings such as Apple TV Plus and Apple Arcade, which would cost $ 4.99 a month on Tuesday, according to the company.
As with the iPhone 11, these prices undercut the competition – especially when you consider that they are available on several devices for the whole family. Analysts expected prices in the range of 8 to 10 USD.
"It's clear that Cupertino is looking for market share with these startling prices we are all vocal about," said Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives.
"Apple needs phones at all levels of the market for its services to function," said Maribel Lopez, an analyst at Lopez Research.
It's no coincidence that Apple gives away one year of Apple TV Plus service when you buy one of its devices.
Shifting to more subscriptions changes Apple's priorities. Rather than increasing sales through extremely expensive premium devices, its services, which are considered to be the fastest growing part of the business, are expected to deliver lower but consistent revenue.
The result is lower cost options for you when it comes to devices.
Considering the difficulties associated with services such as Apple TV Plus and Apple Arcade, you may be able to pay Apple in one way or another.
