July is coming, which means it's time for new releases to tackle a new month of video games. Speaking of tackling: Madden NFL 20 will be released for everyone earlier this month. Later, in Control, you can hurl bullets and psychic powers and, with World of Warcraft Classic, review the beginnings of the world's largest MMO. August concludes with the action-packed Astral Necklace and the fearsome Blair Witch.
Madden NFL 20 – August 2
Available on: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Some of you may already have early access to Madden 20, but its public launch will start in the new month. This year's game includes new features like Face of the Franchise, a campaign that transports a player from a college career to the NFL. Some pros, thanks to new Superstar X-Factors, can also use special abilities while playing.
Control – August 27
Available for: PS4, Xbox One, PC
The latest game from Alan Wake and Quantum Break developer Remedy takes its name from the Federal Bureau of Control, a fictitious government agency that deals with cases where the laws of physics are simply not right. The protagonist Jesse Faden can hurl villains and float around with their psychic powers. She has infiltrated the FBC to find her missing brother, and she has to shoot through black men to find him.
World of Warcraft Classic – August 27  Available on: PC
If you've longed for it, too In an older version of WoW, Classic is just what you've been waiting for. Classic looks and feels like WoW in version 1.12 (the Drums of War update), a time before The Burning Crusade was even released. WoW subscribers get access to Classic at no additional cost.
Astral Chain – August 30

] If you like the portfolio of Platinum Games with titles like Bayonetta and Vanquish, you know what you can expect from Astral Chain. The protagonist of your police offering is chained to a living weapon known as a Legion, and you two can move around the battlefield to fight monsters in stylish combat. As you may guess by name, you can even travel to the astral plane to find out where the monsters come from.
Blair Witch – August 30
Available on: Xbox One, PC
The Bloody Weaver developer Bloober Team picks up on this iconic cult cult classic with the typical psychological horror flair of the studio. You play as a police officer in search of a missing boy in the famous Black Hills forest. At least you have your dog companion Bullet tracking down witches.
August approaches, and the next installment of new releases will be dedicated to more new games the month brings. You can revisit some previously released titles with the Guacamelee One-Two Punch Collection and Metal Wolf Chaos XD.
