Tlaib is the first Palestinian-American member of Congress and one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress. It supports the boycott divestiture and sanctions movement that encourages a boycott of Israeli organizations in support of Palestinian rights.
Representatives of Engel and Tlaib did not immediately respond to requests for comments.
