Infinity Ward's Call of Duty developers have finally given players some pointers on when League Play will be available in Modern Warfare.
With the release of the highly anticipated Modern Warfare title in less than two months, players are getting some clues to learn more about Call of Duty 2019.
One issue that is emerging more and more often is League Play – the multiplayer ranked leg containing the same Official Competition Rules set used in sports events.
League Play was launched when a couple of Infinity Ward developers recently completed a question and answer session with GameInformer.
"Will Ranking Game be available for start?" a fan asked about an online post.
Black Ops 4 players had to wait five months after the start to receive League Play.
At this point, the developers looked a bit unsure as they gave an answer that was neither here nor there at first.
"I do not know about that," he said. "It's something that's really important to us, and we're working on it, but as we finish the game, we're thinking about what's on it and what's not."
Then perhaps the most revealing part of your answer came: "We have a pretty aggressive post-launch plan, so we have a couple of pieces to play with, but we do not know what's going to happen next. "

While Infinity Ward's response was not overly revealing, many have interpreted it as "post-mobile". Launch plan "as a bad sign of the livelihood prospects of League Play view from the start in the game.
That would of course be disturbing and frustrating for players who had to wait five months after the release of Black Ops 4 until Treyarch finally added the leaderboard mode.
