Three months after Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and author MacKenzie Bezos announced they would reach a divorce agreement, it was closed by a judge in Seattle area on Friday, Bloomberg said. 19659005] The comparison leaves MacKenzie Bezos according to Bloomberg a share of 4% in the online shopping giant worth more than 38 billion US dollars. Billionaire MacKenzie Bezos has signed Warren Buffet's donation pledge and has agreed to donate at least half of her fortune to charity.
In late May, MacKenzie Bezos signed the donation pledge to donate at least half of her fortune to charity. She is one of more than 200 philanthropists who joined the initiative to encourage billionaires in the world to give away their wealth for charity.
In a letter published on the Giving Pledge website, MacKenzie Bezos said she had a "disproportionate amount of money to share."
"My approach to philanthropy will continue to be thoughtful," MacKenzieBezos wrote. "It will take time, effort, and care, but I will not wait, and I will stick to it until the safe is empty."
According to Bloomberg, the court documents that formalized the divorce revealed little else about the conditions of separation. The couple submitted a plan for the parenting of their children earlier this week.
