A new entry in DJI's gimbal smartphones line has been added to an FCC list, suggesting that a follow-up to last year's DJI Osmo Mobile 2 may soon be on its way. The listing for the "Osmo Mobile 3" was first discovered by Dave Zatz who states that the handle of the gimbal has apparently been redesigned for the new model.
Apart from the new handle, it is not clear what new features we can expect from the DJI Osmo Mobile 3. The big change in the second version of the gimbal was supposedly the ability to film in portrait format with your phone thinking that the price was the bigger upgrade. At only $ 1
Despite the changes DJI is making on its third version, the new Osmo Mobile will have more competition in the DJI product range this time around. Last year, DJI released the Osmo Pocket, which has a similar three-axis stabilizer as the Osmo Mobile, but has a small built-in camera so you do not have to use your phone. We liked the Osmo Pocket when we tried it for ourselves, but it has a higher entry-level price, which could make the Osmo Mobile a more tempting option if your smartphone already has a good camera.
