Newlyweds Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are reportedly mourning their dog Waldo, who was hit and killed by a car in Manhattan this week.
A representative of Jonas told TMZ that the incident took place on Wednesday while Walker's dog was walking on the Lower East Side with their four-legged best friend.
The puppy was on a leash, but was "frightened" by a pedestrian and broke off, reports the TMZ.
The Jonas representative called it "a freak accident" – adding that the couple was then very emotional and needed to see a therapist. They filed a report with the police on Friday, but NYPD officials were unable to provide any information about the incident when it reached the post office.
Jonas and Turner had reportedly received Waldo, an Alaskan clover, in April 201
"They traveled all over the world," Jonas said in December to "Today." "They are international [flown]they have passports, they are the cutest dogs I've ever met."
Jonas described her personality and said, "Porky is a madman, a wild man, and Waldo is really shy . "
The slain puppy had its own IG account – with over 45,000 followers – and was even featured with Jonas on a shoot of" Sexiest Man Alive "for People magazine last November.
" Bruthuz " It's said to be the only post that shows a picture of Waldo and Porky staring at each other. "It's also great in New York – obviously there are many dogs and great dog parks, so they love it. I love it. And it definitely feels like home when I'm done and can go back and see these two dogs – it really makes me happy. They definitely scare me.
Attempts to reach Jonas and Turner's agents failed on Friday night.
