In a statement on 9to5Google Essential confirmed that the PH-1 is out of stock and will not produce anymore. "We are sold out on Essential.com Essential Phone and will not add any new inventory," a company spokesperson said. "We are currently working hard on our next mobile product, and we will continue to sell accessories and provide rapid software updates and customer support to our existing community."

The Essential Phone turned out to be a pretty popular device on first launch and had never managed the creative direction of Android co-founder Andy Rubin of the device. Even after expanding into new markets, Essential's sales were insufficient and there were layoffs and rumors that the company would be sold. While the company says it is working on its next mobile product, it's not clear what it will be or when it will arrive. The planned second generation Essential Phone was discontinued earlier this year.
