The Flash Season 5, Episode 3, Review: The Death of Vibe

Watch Cisco Ramon because "The Death of Vibe" sounds like it might be bad news for you.

Now the great evil of this season of The Flash has made its presence It is unlikely that a week will pass without it being in the middle of the action. The problem Team Flash has is that nobody knows much about Cicada.

Except Nora West Allen could know something or she really looked like this last week.

Flash Season 5 Episode 3 Recap "The Death of the Vibe"

Let's look at the Flash Museum in 2032. Nora says part of the museum always frightened her, and of course it was about Cicada. In the present she has bad news: Flash never caught him. Also supergirl, the legends or the league. Hey, which league? Insert thinking face emoji here. Worse, he's early, as Cicada has historically emerged too early. Nora says she has a plan, a surprising iris.

Elongated Man thwarts a robbery with a guy wearing a high-tech solar-powered gun. Meanwhile, Nora plans to use Harrison Wells to catch Cicada ̵

1; but which ones? They first try the German Wells from the Council of Harrisons, and although Cisco does not like the idea, he proves to be both nice and helpful and suggests another well to help. Harrison "Sherlock" Wells at your service.

While sharpening his lightning dagger, Cicada is certainly staring at pictures of Vibe …

Sherlock, as it is spelled, seems to be a rather amusing sequence of the true deal, proving a quick study and study very attentive, revealing some details that we did not even know (Iris has a tattoo that obscured her from a former lover?). However, he does not work in vain, and while Team Flash is ready to pay his fee, Sherloque and Ralph did not get along well. Ralph goes to help Caitlin confront her mother, who quickly dismisses her daughter when she is asked about her father. Nevertheless, Ralph is confident that she is lying.

It turned out that Detective Wells immediately found out something important, revealing that Cicada is a man named David Hersch. Or is he: Although the house where the Flash and the XS have checked out is equipped with booby traps, he forces the father to rescue his daughter and they catch the guy a little too easily. And that sounds like Cicada is stalking Joe West instead. Oh my God.

You see, Barry knows what's going on. He is not sure if Hersch is the right one, even though he is a cicada in the comics. We see that he is quite early enough to confront Cicada Joe, who is looking for vibe, and if Joe does not want to call the hero, Cicada beats him, it seems.

Meanwhile, Caitlin and Ralph return to break into their mother's office at night. They find something that looks like a farewell letter, deepening the mystery of their father.

There is another twist. Sherloque explains that the reason he was so sure that Cicada was Hersch was that he had already caught Cicada on 37 other earths, and it was always haunting each time. What's different on Earth-1? Maybe Nora is thinking about the timeline, says Iris. Undaunted, Nora Earth-1 wants to throw Hersch into the pipeline until he talks, and when Barry says absolutely nothing, she runs away furiously. You are grounded, young lady!

The actual cicada is nowhere to go and threatens the bound Joe, who vehemently refuses to be the bait to lure Vibe. So the villain starts to shoot him from his dagger with a red flash. Anyway.

Because Barry has not got anything to complain about, he blames himself for Nora's obsession with Hersch and Cicada. Iris explains that Nora has a lot of guilt and she has almost more to carry than it looks like Sherloque has evaporated in the pipeline (he's actually alright and has only feigned his death so as not to pay Team Flash back) , Everyone leaves comfortably, so Barry and Nora can have the Big Talk ™ this week, which usually results in him thinking of her before she acts.

Ralph apologizes to Caitlin for having pushed her into discovering her father's farewell letter saying there's no reason to say he's sorry because he helped her get closed.

The situation in the West House becomes more complicated as Cecile wakes up and finds her husband in a vulnerable position. Although she can hear Joe's thoughts that she should not call for help because the Cicada wants, she panics when the villain hears the baby cry and presses the panic button on her phone. Vibe comes first, but Cicada takes it back a fraction of a second before Flash arrives.

Although Sherloque is actually useful in finding the forest where Vibe was being transported, it is not fast enough to stop him from feeling Cicada's dagger. Flash emerges and immediately his speed has dropped and beaten him by Cicada. But after thinking about it for a second, XS has an idea that involves one of the pipelined power-givers. It helps to bring down the villain, but when she throws it at Vibe to use it for herself, the villain kicks it back and there's an explosion that seems to vape Cisco. Cicada shows some crazy jumps by jumping up a crazy stretch straight up, apparently bleeding, and we soon learn that Vibe is okay. Nora has really saved the day, as it turns out. Huzzah!

When Team Flash reunites, we find Wells standing around. In addition, Barry and Iris invite Nora to invade her, which she reluctantly agrees.

However, there is one more puzzle that needs to be resolved, and it includes the notes Caitlin's father left. Although these notes look like gibberish, there is actually a hidden code in them that pronounces "CAITLIN COME FIND ME". And who is the guy watching Caitlin on a series of screens? MONITOR THAT YOU?

Joe has his own Eureka moment and tells Cecile that he believes Cicada is a father. That's the money, and even though a doctor tells him to stop, he says he can not "till he's done." Then he kisses a girl in a coma on his forehead.

Last Scene Time: Sherloque wants to talk to Nora and ask if she has come to the decision to hit the satellite alone with her dad. He laughs it out, but her expression when she leaves suggests that he has touched a nerve, and his serious appearance reinforces that idea. Intriguing

Final Thoughts

Look, nobody really thought that Cisco was a failure, but the authors did a good job, at least that it looks like a possibility. The cicada mystery deepened and we received our first confirmation that Nora's presence in the present had some consequences that only make sense. Sherloque Wells is also a fun addition to the mix, or he could be as long as he has more shifts to peel.

Yet by far the most significant events of this episode are the Shadowy Figure, the Caitlin and the Bit are watching the end. They can be very well connected, and they could also be linked to this year's crossover, which would be a very exciting aspect.
