Luis Valbuena, who played the last two seasons of his career in the big league at the Angels, was killed on Thursday night in a car accident along with former top-fighter Jose Castillo, a spokesman for the Venezuelan team confirmed ,

Valbuena was 33 years old and Castillo 37 years old.

It was reported that the accident happened when his car collided with a stone that hit the road in Yarucuy, in Valbuena, Venetia.

According to reports, the car was driven by the driver of former Arizonaback player Diamondbacks and winter ball team-mate Carlos Rivero, both of whom survived.

Valbuena and Castillo played on Thursday night for their team in Venezuela, the Cardenales de Lara.
The Angels signed Valbuena before the 2017 season to a two-year contract, and he remained in the club until he was determined in August 2018 for his use.

Although Valbuena could not produce as the angels hoped, he was popular with his teammates.

Valbuena spent 11 years in the majors with the Seattle Mariners, the Cleveland Indians, the Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros and Angels.

Castillo played in the majors with the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants and Astros from 2004 to 2008.
