The Galaxy Note 9 has a component that you will not find on other phones – this is how it works – BGR



Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 is certainly one of the best Android phones you can buy now, though it's also one of the most expensive phones ever. Similar hardware is available for prices below $ 400, though you will not get the same high-end experience as with the $ 1,000 grade 9. The phone has many nice tricks including a dual-lens dual-aperture camera, a smarter stylus, a beefy 4,000 mAh battery, up to 512 GB of internal memory, a desktop mode that does not require any accessories, and a heat dissipation system other phones is not available.

Note 9 is not the first phone to come with a water-based heat sink to improve cooling. We have seen it on previous Samsung flagships, starting with the Galaxy S7. But Samsung has drastically improved its Water Carbon Cooling System, which is called the new Note 9 heat sink.

Samsung said in a blog post how the cooling system works:

When we launched the Galaxy S7, we introduced a new way of water-based cooling into our phones. A porous porous heat spreader filled with water was used, which absorbed the heat and turned it into steam and then transported the heat through a pipe. Once the heat was dissipated, the vapor condensed back into water. This system was the template for the water carbon cooling system in the Galaxy Note9, but we wanted to make it bigger and more efficient.

For Grade 9, Samsung added a layer of copper between the thermal conduction materials of earlier designs to transfer more heat between the two materials for more efficient heat dissipation.

As you may have seen in Galaxy Note 9 Teardowns, (or the picture above), the phone also has a wider thermal spreader tube , 350 cubic meters, more than three times larger than the Galaxy S9 95 cubic meters. The S9 packs the same processor as the Note 9, but the latter may offer better peak performance thanks to the improved cooling system.

The only way to test if it works is to go through extensive gaming sessions or use the Note 9 PC mode by plugging it into a monitor while using many apps. The recently launched Poco F1 phone also has a liquid cooling system that could have helped the phone in real-time speed tests to beat one of its biggest competitors, the OnePlus 6.
