The spaceship Hayabusa2 had a close relationship to the asteroid Ryugu. It sent Rover and Lander to its surface fired a bullet at it and shot a [1

But all the best must come to an end and Hayabusa2 is now on her way home.

JAXA, Japan's space agency, announced on Twitter Tuesday that the spaceship is leaving its space pal. The two have teamed since Hayabusa's arrival in mid-2018.

. The spaceship landed on the asteroid and collected samples to return them to Earth . Talk about a high quality souvenir.

JAXA sent Hayabusa2 2014 on an ambitious journey. The agency plans that Hayabusa2 will release the sample capsule into the earth's atmosphere at the end of 2020 for recovery in Australia. The spaceship then performs a maneuver to stay in space.

When the sample capsule comes through as expected, scientists will study the material to learn how ancient Ryugu was formed and gain new insights into the early solar system.

Hayabusa2's mission has been a complete success so far. Now it only has to wait for the return.
