A windswept bushfire that began Tuesday in a rural agricultural area east of Portland, Oregon, now burned 70 square miles (181 kilometers) and prompted additional evacuations.
Substation spokesman Stefan Myers said Wednesday night that strong winds would continue to fuel the fire, leading to further evacuations in the East.
The fire is burning along the Columbia River Gorge about 137 kilometers east of Portland.
Myers says firefighters have been focused on protecting homes and lives and that additional fire crews have been routed to the area.
The Oregon Department of Transportation closed Highway 97 late Wednesday afternoon from Biggs Junction to the Highway 197 interchange for fire.
A person was found dead near a tractor in a field that was consumed by a wildfire in Oregon.  Wasco County sheriff's office said Wednesday that the body was fou and a short distance from the burnt tractor.
The identity of the person was not published.
It is believed that the person has tried to use the tractor to create a fire line to stop the fire.
The fire is burned 56 square miles (145 square kilometers) in a rural area along the Columbia River Gorge about 137 miles east of Portland
The fire in rural agriculture has forced dozens of households to evacuate and demolish a home.
It is expected that the Pacific Northwest blizzard will be worse than normal with drought conditions in many areas.

The power transmitted by the wire is sold by BPA to various utilities in the immediate area, and it was not immediately obvious how many customers were affected.
