The North Dakota US Department of Health reports that an emergency preparedness and response team is being sent to Washington State as the measles outbreak escalates.
The US Department of Health says the five-member team will dismiss members of the US state of Washington since January 1 with the outbreak.
The state has now confirmed 36 cases and 12 suspected cases in two counties. Of these cases, 25 are between the ages of one and ten years. The Department of Health says that of the 36 cases, 32 of the patients were not immunized and the immunization of the remaining four was not verified.
Washington Governor Jay Inslee declared a state of emergency on 25 January.
