News anchors in Los Angeles remained shocked when a strong earthquake hit 7.1 on Friday night with a preliminary magnitude of 7.1 in Southern California.
Sara Donchey and Juan Fernandez were in the air for the evening news broadcast of CBS daughter KCAL 9 as the shaking struck. In a video that becomes viral, Donchey told viewers that "we're really shaking if you take a moment with us."
"We make sure that nothing comes down in the studio here." "She added before grabbing Fernandez's arm.
" This is a very strong earthquake, "Donchey continued," 8:21 in the air here and we are experiencing very strong shaking. I think we have to sit down under the desk.
She then took cover when the network turned off advertising.

Donchey later explained why the quake "a timely reminder" for humans was to prepare their earthquake kits:
She also sent her wishes to all concerned in Ridgecrest, just 18 kilometers from the epicenter of the quake.
Fernandez meanwhile commented "Whew!".
