OnePlus adds one day to the launch of its OnePlus 6T to avoid a collision with Apple's iPad Pro and Mac event on October 30, just announced yesterday. The change was revealed in a post by CEO Pete Lau at the OnePlus Community Forum, which explained the difficult decision. Both events were scheduled for the same day in New York, but OnePlus has announced that it will take place on October 29th at the same venue and at 11:00 am ET.
The sold-out launch event, the over 1,000 confirmed attendees, have so far been a ticket to OnePlus fans and press. In previous events, OnePlus refunded the cost of the ticket once participants purchased a phone. OnePlus now addresses the participants to inform them about the rescheduling and offers to cover the travel expenses for the participants if they need to change their flights. The company also offers full refunds for ticket holders who can not attend.
The expectation for the new phone is high, as the OnePlus 6T is rumored to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a small notch. Hopefully, OnePlus will get enough attention to make up for the pain of rescheduling an event before Apple takes the limelight the next day.
