One and a half months ago, OpenAI showed the latest version of its Dota 2 bot, which had matured to the point of playing and winning a full five-on-five game against human opponents. These artificial intelligence agents learned everything themselves, explored and experimented on the complex playing field at a learning rate of 180 years per day. Today, the so-called OpenAI Five has truly earned its credibility by defeating a team of four professional players and a Dota 2 commentator in a best-of-three series of games.
There were some conditions to make the game manageable for the AI, such as a narrower pool of 1
I've never felt more useless in my life, but at least we have fun, so I think we're in the spirit.
Surely we will not win in-game

The OpenAI Five triumphed in the first game in a convincing manner and did not even allow the human players one of their defensive towers to destroy. The humans recovered a little in the second game, conquered a tower but were still being demolished. And finally, in a game that was played only with pride, people managed to squeeze out a victory.
What strikes the matches is the apparent intelligence of AI's decisions and the inhumane absence of any indecision . The typical Dota 2 game, even at the professional level, involves quite a bit of ambiguity about whether you are engaged in a fight or are trying to move it to a more favorable battlefield or run away completely. The OpenAI team simply does not need the processing time people need, which made their game look unnatural – but only in the speed and depth of decision-making, not in the content of those decisions.
The developers of OpenAI noted that the OpenAI Five lost to amateur players in their team in May. By June, the AI was mature enough to defeat casual players, and today it shows itself able to overwhelm people who have literally played since its inception Dota 2 . The next target for this fast-developing AI is to record the best Dota 2 players at Valves The International 8 later this month. There, the best teams will fight for the big prize, which is 2018 Dota 2 champions, and one of the side shows will be a contest between them and the OpenAI Five.
