The Persona series may not be as well known worldwide as Mario or Pikachu, but has certainly gained popularity in recent years. In fact, it has recently reached a significant milestone in its history.
According to Atlus, the entire series has now sold more than 10 million copies worldwide in a blog post on the official Japanese Persona website. This allegedly includes every single game since it debuted in 1996 as a spin-off to Shin Megami Tensei . We talk about the most important RPG adventures and any other game that has the Persona name appended to it.
It is believed that the recent release of Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth on the 3DS has pushed the series across the line. According to an investor report by Sega Sammy from last October, the series had sold 9.3 million copies. Since then Persona Q2 has been introduced inside and outside of Japan.
Persona has gained strength in recent years. Joker also made it into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate not long ago as the first DLC fighter. Regarding the future, owners of switches can look forward to Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers . It is another spin-off based on the Warriors series by Koei Tecmo and Omega Force .
