Pokemon Sword and Shield introduces an Open World environment for the series in Wild Area, where you can meet all levels of Pokemon and other players online and explore this part of the map today. The Wild Area Search App is available now. Use this app to zoom in on Google Maps in Street View style and learn more about the various Pokémon in the Diorama.
As you'll see, the app uses a 3D diorama to depict the Wild Area, not the actual in-game engine. Click the arrow at the bottom of the screen to see other parts of the map and click on a Pokémon that you see for some official information. Keep in mind, however, that the app can currently display only Japanese text, which will boost Google Translate. If you do not speak Japanese, you can see it as a bonus: You can wander through a 3D replica of Pokemon Sword and Shield's Wild Area with some entertaining jumbled words and phrases. Some of the Pokémon even have little animations when you click on them.
The Wild Area Search app should provide some distraction as you wait the week for Pokémon Sword and Shield to appear this Friday. The latest trailer has released a few new Pokémon and features from Sword and Shield's sexy, UK-inspired Galar region.
If you have the patience of a saint, you should keep Sword and Shield in the eye of discounts when Black Friday Game Deals appear later this month.
