The prosecution demands RM3mil bail for anyone, since Najib does not plead guilty to Irwan – nation



KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and former Minister of Finance Tan Sri Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah was not guilty of six charges of criminal infidelity in connection with RM6.6bil before the session court. [196592002] The charges were read before Judge Azman Ahmad, to whom both pleaded not guilty on Thursday (October 25).

Najib and dr. Mohd Irwan are jointly charged under Article 409 of the Criminal Code with six cases of CBT.

The first two charges were activities committed on December 21, 2016 with RM1.2bil and RM655mil.

In the third indictment, Najib and Dr. Mohd Irwan CBT committed on RM220mil on August 3, 201

The fourth fee includes an amount of RM1.3bil for grants and grants to be paid on August 10, 2017.

The fifth and sixth charges were f or CBT on 23 August and 18 December of the same year, with an amount of RMB1.95bil (RM1.261bil) and RM2bil, respectively

Leading Prosecutor Datuk Seri Gopal urged Sri Ram from RM3mil one bail each for Najib and dr. Mohd Irwan.

Najib's lawyer, dr. Muhammad Shafee, currently mitigating, says his client has already paid RM 4.5 million for his last 32 charges, an amount that could be "the highest in Malaysian history."

"A bail of only criteria is his presence and nothing else, it can not be punitive, it can not be depressing."

"Do we have to suppress it with a dreadful amount of RM3mil? The amount of the bail should not be so high, "said Dr. Muhammad Shafee.
