"[Rick] Gates remembered a time in the campaign plane when candidate Trump said," Get the emails. "[Michael] Flynn said he could use his intelligence resources to get the emails," the investigators wrote in a summary of Gates' April 201
"Flynn had the most Russia contacts in the campaign and was in the best position to request the emails when they were out there." The investigators also wrote about Gates' interview.
Gates described in an interview with Mueller Investigators last year how several close advisors to Trump, Trump's family members, and Trump themselves have considered getting the stolen documents and pushing the effort, the investigators said. 19659006] "Gates said Donald Trump Jr. would ask where the emails are in family reunions. Gates said that Clinton's e-mails and contributions to the Clinton Foundation were the main focus of the Trump Campaign's research team: Flynn, Sessions, Kushner and [Donald] Trump Jr. focused all on oppositional issues, "Gates told the investigators in the summary of the interview.
CNN's release on Saturday includes 274 pages of interview notes, e-mails, and other Mueller team related documents relating to the collaboration between Gates, former top campaign official Steve Bannon, and former personal Trump lawyer Michael Cohen. Both Cohen and Gates pleaded guilty to criminal charges of Müller. Bannon was charged with no offense.
Bannon told the law firm how Trump was interested in finding the 33,000 missing emails from Hillary Clinton, which she had deleted from her private server, according to the records. Neither Bannon nor Gates said they knew that the Russians had stolen the democratic documents, but believed that foreigners had done the hacks.
Trump had publicly asked Russia to find the missing e-mails when he spoke at a rally in 2016.
Fox News' presenter Sean Hannity also appears repeatedly in the interview notes, illustrating how closely the personality of primetime television was interwoven with Trump's political operation in 2016.
"[Rick] [campaign chairman Paul] Manafort often spoke with Sean Hannity in their offices," investigators told the special adviser Gates told them in April 2018. Days before the presidential election in 2016, Manafort had taught Hannity.
The Ministry of Justice is still editing a large part of the interview notes.
