Nissan Motor said it was co-pending a report by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) after a report said the regulator was investigating Japanese carmaker disclosure about executive compensation.

A Nissan spokesman confirmed that the automaker had received a request from the US regulator without giving any further details.
The SEC was not immediately available to comment on the matter.
Nissan shares fell 1.0 percent to 919 Japanese yen in afternoon trade compared to a decline of 0.4 percent in the Nikkei average.
