The famous Scandinavian housewares manufacturer Ikea is expanding its selection of smart homes this spring. Starting in April, the company will be offering the company's intelligent Fyrtur window blinds, which can be operated via a supplied remote control or via a virtual assistant of your choice.

The parasols are powered by rechargeable batteries and can be connected to Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa or Apple HomeKit for voice control. You can also use the included remote control, which displays Ikea attached to the wall next to the sun visors.

The battery of the sunglasses seems to charge via USB ̵

The Fyrtur model is opaque, Blocking as much light as possible – I imagine they will be shut down automatically on hot, sunny days with IFTTT. The prices for the US were not announced, but in Europe they are between 119 and 159 euros (that's about 136 to 182 US dollars), depending on the desired size. There is also a translucent model called Kadrilj, but Ikea did not say that this version will be available in the US.

The Fyrtur colors will be available in the US from April 1st.
