Ricoh McClain, 30, was arrested for killing the 28-year-old Kevin Tyrell Davis in front of the fast food store in Oxon Hill on November 4, said Prince George's County Police.
Cops announced the bankruptcy on Twitter early Thursday, adding they had no further information.
Investigators believe McClain and Davis bumped beef at the fast food chicken restaurant in the city just outside Washington DC when Davis queued up.
Davis had spent about 15 minutes bypassing the customers "methodically" in a snatch for just the sandwich, Prince Hank Stawinski, George's police chief, told reporters after the murder.
The dispute was spilled in front of the restaurant and Davis was stabbed once in the upper body.
Cops found him stabbed in the parking lot when they arrived. He died less than an hour later at a nearby hospital.
