The tenth suspect may have been involved in organizing the assassination of Ortiz, WCVB has learned.

The 10th person arrested in connection with the shooting of former Red Sox thug David "Big Papi" Ortiz may have been involved in planning the failed assassination, WCVB has learned. The prosecutor in the Dominican Republic believes Gabriel Alexander Perez Vizcaino, known as "The Bone", has communicated with one of two accused inmates. Vizcaino called the police on Friday. The prosecutors said that Vizcaino received a picture of the target from inmate Jose Eduardo Ciprian and then worked with several other suspects to arrange the assassination. The day after filming, Vizcaino sold the iPhone he communicated with. The WCVB has learned that the prosecutor's office accuses the suspect Alberto Miguel Rodriguez Mota, who is not in detention, and paid the suspects for the attempted murder. Documents do not make it clear whether he has simply paid the money or who ordered the hit. Vizcaino appeared in court on Monday night. The court has approved a one-year pre-trial detention for Vizcaino. Ortiz continues to recover at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
