The dying Jeffrey Dean Morgan, The Walking Dead plans to rescue the imprisoned villain Negan.
"We'll see a new side of Negan quickly in [season 9]," Morgan said at the San Diego Comic-Con Friday. "Many of him try not to go crazy in the situation he's in. I think there's a salvation for Negan."
The bat leader was defeated and imprisoned by the Alexandrian leader Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the closing sequence of the season 8 finale, narrated by Rick and Michonne (Danai Gurira), he was kept alive as "evidence that we have a civilization do."
Rick's decision will continue to prove controversial with the camp against Negan: namely Hilltop leader Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Rick's right-hand Daryl (Norman Reedus), whose close relationship with Rick this season will be more shaky otherwise.
"You will definitely see us in disagreement [over Negan]," Cohan said at Comic-Con.
"The future looks different from everyone else and we'll explore that. [Maggie’s] Child does not have a dad and the person responsible for it is still there." When it really matters, what are you doing? Season. "
" It's another Negan, another side of Negan, "Morgan said. "He's in a difficult situation and has to cope with some things inside and out that he has not dealt with before."
Asked by moderator Yvette Nicole Brown if he would have a more relaxed role as a prisoner, Morgan said Negan enjoys his visits to visitors in his cell.
"He likes to talk, so it's important that people visit him," Morgan said. "As an actor, it was okay, but as a character, I could burn to get out of it."
"We'll see some of Negan's pages we've never seen before," Season 9 added to Showrunner Angela Kang. "I mean, Jeffrey is amazing, you know, Negan is Negan, and Negan sometimes manages to cause trouble, so we'll play with those stories."
