Liverpool are still associated with a large number of players, as Jürgen Klopp is considering whether to strengthen his squad when the transfer window opens.
As rumors of potential newcomers to Anfield keep popping up, we’ve looked at the latest gossip articles to find out what they could mean for the Reds.
Milot Rashica, Werder Bremen striker.
Liverpool are part of a number of clubs that have been linked to a summer change for Rashica, and a blow has been reported to those interested.
According to reports in Germany, every club wishing to sign Rashica must now pay an additional £ 20m after Bremen avoided relegation.
The German club secured its top statistics by defeating Heidenheim with away goals in the relegation play-off.
This means that Rashica will not be available for a reduced price of £ 1
Although connections to Liverpool have been preliminary, it’s definitely a blow to any club looking to sign Rashica this summer.
The Kosovo international has sparked interest across Europe, and now clubs need to rethink if they want to make a deal this summer.
Will Liverpool be one of them? Despite the connections, the chances of a business are unlikely.
Thiago Alcantara, midfielder of Bayern Munich.
According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Manchester City will not be pursuing a contract to sign Thiago this summer.
The Spanish international is still linked to a move to Liverpool, but it has been reported that both City and local rival Manchester City have also expressed interest.
The report adds that there is “mutual admiration” between the Reds and Thiago and that it depends on whether Liverpool can afford the Bayern prize.
Again, this is a rumor that will not go away so quickly.
Although ECHO is strongly associated with a move to Anfield, the club currently has no plans to make a move for the player.
But that doesn’t mean other clubs aren’t interested in the player’s accomplishments, and the news that Man City isn’t in the race will delight those who are.
Jürgen Klopp, you think everyone knows him!
Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills has advised the Reds to hand over another new contract to their manager next year.
Klopp only signed a new extension in December last year, which now runs until summer 2024.
Mills believes a new deal may be in the pipeline 12 months from now, provided Klopp succeeds Anfield.
“Sir Alex Ferguson was incredibly successful and Arsene Wenger was particularly successful at the beginning of his time there,” Mills told Football Insider.
“If Jürgen Klopp enjoys his football in Liverpool and is doing well, they will continue to reward him with new contracts.
“He still has four years and next year at this time they will give him another four years.
“He will always have job security as long as he is well.
“Do I see him there for 15 years? Another three years would be a long time.
“During this time, he has to go through a reconstruction process. In two years, this team needs to be seriously rebuilt. Can he do that and be successful? Might not. “
Well, this is surely a suggestion that the vast majority of Liverpool fans would leave behind!
While the Reds will eventually prepare for Klopp’s inevitable departure, which will hopefully be a long time in the future, they would certainly like to keep the Germans with them for as long as possible.
Let’s see if this suggestion is heard …
