Why is it helpful?
All of the ingredients found in this mouthwash are natural hygiene protectors. Coconut oil, in particular, has the biggest role to play. Not only has coconut oil been used traditionally for oil pulling, but using it regularly can so benefit your dental health and keep it clean. It is very helpful in warding off bacteria and germs, cavities from forming. As you gargle with this solution, the bacteria present beneath the teeth and gum surface get washed away by the liquid oil.
Coconut oil is therefore very helpful in maintaining oral hygiene because of a good fatty acid content, so it comes loaded with antimicrobial properties which keep germs away. Used regularly, it prevents gingivitis and halitosis (bad breath) which happens as the bacteria spread.
The salt in the mouthwash is another must have for good dental hygiene. Salt can raise the levels in the mouth and create an environment which makes it difficult for bacteria to survive. It is therefore not very harsh on the surface, which is why it is prescribed as a natural healing aid by dentists and doctors since it does not irritate the sensitive skin around the teeth.
The presence of peppermint extract in the mouthwash gets rid of plaque and ensures that you have fresh breath for longer. It effectively kills germs and microbes as well. Menthol, an essential component present in peppermint oil has a cooling sensation which does away with any bad smell. Apart from this, peppermint also contains strong notes of nutrients like potassium, magnesium, and calcium.
