You can watch more clips of the game in action Alec Moody’s YouTube channel.
Moody has just coined the game trailer you see above, that of the game official press kit has a bit more back-of-box information about what it’s about:
“Wrench commissions the players to repair and maintain racing cars. Every component in Wrench is carefully crafted. Parts up to each nut and bolt are reproduced true to the original to allow the players to accurately simulate. The wrench has common fastening tools (ratchets and bumps) and precisely simulates the torque, the expansion and the breakage of the fastening element. Players are using a growing range of lubricants and chemicals to perform common tasks such as oil changes or brake fluid flushing. “
You can play the game on a Windows PC or in virtual reality with motion controllers, the latter sounding particularly interesting. Unfortunately, I don’t have any of these hardware, so I won’t be able to play this game anytime soon. But if you are interested, you can take a look at it steam or the Save Oculus for $ 19.99.
It is now available as an “Early Access Release”, which essentially means that developers plan to add much more content to the game. You can check the progress of this development on Wrench website. At the moment, the game’s “development roadmap” looks like this.

However, as I considered further, I realized that this would be a much more relaxed way to familiarize myself with tools. And if I use it, I wouldn’t have to go to my dark and disgusting garage in the apartment complex!
Seems to be a fun and educational tool. Based on the reviews that are up, it also seems to be a pretty successful run. Enter some comments if you’ve played this and have insights to share!
