When Kane Brown collapsed on Wednesday (October 16) at the CMT Artists of the Year event and dedicated his prize to drummer Kenny Dixon, who died in a car accident on October 12, he was not the only one who moved the crowd to tears.
With his acceptance speech, his compatriot Thomas Rhett Brown wanted to mentally support.
"I just want to pick up Kane and his family," Rhett said on the podium. "And I want to pick up his drummer and his family, and I do not know if that's very conventional, but can I just pray, very fast, is that okay for everyone?"

The audience cheered Rhett's statement, so he continued. "God, we love you so much, and we have something we can not understand, so I'm praying now that you're with Kane and his family, drummer Kenny, and his family, and bring peace to them, just like that is you know how to bring someone. "
Brown's drummer Dixon was just 27 years old when he lost his life in a car accident. According to the authorities, neither drugs nor alcohol play a role in the crash. His funeral will take place on October 20th. Brown has postponed his upcoming date in Los Angeles on October 1
Rhett and Brown were two of five winners of the 2019 CMT event and came to Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay and Luke Combs.
