Somebody threatened a doctor on Thursday morning at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center who has triggered a ban and fear of an active shooter, sources News4 said.
A closure of the Northwest D.C. hospital was lifted after police found that there was no continuing threat, sources in the law enforcement agencies said.
D.C. The police responded to a report from an active shooter before 11am. Patrol cars and ambulances race to campus on Irving Street NW, east of the Columbia Heights neighborhood.
But there was no shooting and nobody was hurt, it said.
Officers in the vicinity of the hospital look for the person who made the threat. The police gave no description.
First Street NW was closed during the investigation from Michigan Avenue NW to Irving Street NW.
