After a brief first look at the schedule of the Steelers 2019, this is a six-pack thought.
. 1 Once again? Really?
The NFL makes the Steelers for Sunday Night Football on September 8 in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
In the night for banners.
Did not we suffer enough? This happened in 2002, when the Gillette Stadium opened after the first victory of the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick Super Bowl. New England rolled 30-14.
It happened again in September 2015 after the Patriots defeated the Seahawks in the Super Bowl XLIX. New England was victorious at 28-21 in a game that was not as close as the bottom line implied.
Why did not the Patriots open at home against the Chiefs? Is not that a more interesting clock? Kansas City opens at 1
2. Le & # 39; v late
What did the organizers think here?
The Steelers will not play until week 16 of Le Veon Bell. At this point, both Bell and James Conner were injured.
According to records, Bell's intrigue against the Steelers may be a long-forgotten story. And it is buried at 13.00 clock. Sunday, December 22nd.
It could be bent if the matchup is late, I think. But what a momentum and miss. This feels tailor-made for prime time in Week 1, after the Bell-vs.-the-Steelers hype unfolded outside the field in two seasons.
The network managers must hate this drop-pass.
. 3 Early and often
The Steelers have their usual five primetime games. They are all summoned within the first eleven weeks.
The club's last primetime game is the Thursday night against the Browns in Week 11.
It was a smart game for the network audience. The Steelers have a large national following. But they come from a campaign without playoffs and have a lot of holes in their squad. In a season in which they could survive the first, under 500-year existence of the Ben Roethlisberger era, thinking in as many primetime games seems as possible before 2019 could get out of joint and be squeezed together
In this way, the league TV guys have hedged their stakes and kept their audience in one of their most bankable teams in one of their least bankable seasons.
And if the Steelers end up being good anyway? Great! During the normal Sunday windows against Arizona and Buffalo you get good TV numbers late in the season.
. 4 The autumn wind
The Steelers have to make waves at the end of October until the beginning of November. They have made three home games in a row against the Dolphins, Colts and Rams between October 28th and November 10th.
Two of these games are against playoff teams from last year. A total of five division games precede and follow her.
This will be the most revealing part of the 2019 timeline.
. 5 Ohio trifecta
After this three-pack at Heinz Field, the Steelers play back-to-back against the Browns (Thursday, November 14) and Bengals in Ohio. Then Cleveland comes to Pittsburgh on December 1st. So, the team will not have to travel six weeks (actually, there are seven, as the week before the Miami match lies ahead of him).
If the Browns are as good as people think, they think, and the Bengals are as bad as people think they will be, these divisional contests can express any or all of the organization's thoughts on the reclamation of the AFC North break.
. 6 Wide Bed
The Steelers-Ravens rivalry is stretched this season. The two AFC north opponents come together in week 5 at Heinz Field. They will not play until the last game of the season on December 29th.
If history says something, the endgame means something meaningful to at least one of the teams, if not both. And both may be very different from the beginning of the 2019 season.
