Tim Conway's wife and daughter are reportedly in dispute over his medical treatment as the star of the "Carol Burnett Show" is suffering from dementia.
According to The Blast court records, his daughter Kelly Conway is seeking a restraining order to prevent the comedian's current wife, Charlene Conway, from moving the 84-year-old to a lesser medical facility.
Kelly claimed that Charlene plans to move him from the excellent care center he's currently in, putting him in an inferior home. She claimed that her father "could not adequately cover his personal physical health needs, food and clothing," and was "almost completely unresponsive."
In the documents, Kelly claimed that her father currently has his own private room, and a caregiver has been supporting him for the past two years and is caring for him 24 hours a day. She argued that Conway's move "to such a facility without skilled nursing staff in its current state will harm his health and life."
Conway's "various medical conditions put him at risk of being a subject of medical emergencies," she added.
Kelly also claimed Charlene's attempt to move Conway to an "inferior" facility "opposed" to his "special personal and medical needs." As a result, Kelly asks the court to give the order or at least advance the transaction on the proposed conservatorship before September 1. She argued that Charlene plans to move Conway for the first few days of the month.
The Blast reported that a judge has yet to decide on the order. A representative for Kelly told Fox News on Thursday that she is expected to perform on Friday.
In People Magazine's court documents Friday, Michael Harris, who was appointed to protect Conway's interest during the ongoing feud between daughter and stepmother, also said that the comedian is "unable to communicate" and "fluid in the brain suffers. "
"He showed no ability or willingness to speak and no obvious sign that he understood the nature of the Conservatory or any of my statements for him," Harris claimed, claiming he had visited Conway
Harris added that Charlene was "obviously devoted" to her husband.
"She informed me that her motivation was to work with Jeffrey Cumming's MD, a renowned neurologist trying to deal with Mr. Conway's past brain surgery with a shunt that failed, and later a valve procedure to his neurological Correcting problems, "explained Harris.
"Your concern now is that Mr. Conway should receive proper physical therapy to help him improve neurologically, and it is my current belief that Mrs. Conway, my client's wife, is an adequate and appropriate administrator of her husband's well-being and that her motives regarding Mr. Conway are in his best interest. "
Harris also said that Charlene denied Kellys
" Kelly Conway would like to thank everyone for their love and support for her father and may be due to one No explanation for upcoming court hearings, "A representative for Kelly said on Monday Fox News.
