Tim Tebow makes the East League All-Star Team for Mets Double-A Affiliate

Mets farmhand Tim Tebow is the most famous player in Double-A and now he is an All-Star.

It was announced on Friday that Tebow, along with the Southern League and the Texas League, has made the All-Star Game for the Eastern League, one of three Double-A leagues. Tebow is currently playing for the Bimghamton Rumble Ponies (Mets Affiliate).

Tebow's overall line is not overwhelming. He beats .261

/ .335 / .398, where the average of the league is .251 / .325 / .389. So it is slightly above the average of the season. He's been on fire lately though. In his last 21 games, Tebow hits .323 / .353 / .462. In his last 10? .406 / .424 / .625 with nine RBI.

Tebow has 12 doubles, one triple, five homers, 30 RBI and 26 runs in 236 record appearances this season.

Overall he has a good season. Just having a "good" season in Double-A would not normally clear the way for a possible MLB appearance, but let's be real here. The Mets are not going anywhere and as the rosters will be extended in September, he'll put some extra stubs in the Citi Fields.

For now it is "Tim Tebow, East League All-Star." Coming September, the smart money is on "Tim Tebow, Major League Baseball player."
