Tinder goes to school: New Tinder U feature only fits students

Tinder will grant US universities access to its Tinder U-service, hoping to provide students with an enhanced dating experience.

In order to sign up for the service, Tinder urges his users to have a college e-mail address (.edu) from an authorized four-year non-profit school in the United States that courses in a conventional face-to-face Teaches a Face Tutorial. The performance of the Tinder U is relatively similar to the normal Tinder, although the UI interface looks a bit unique.

Match.com announced its service for the first time in its quarterly results a few weeks ago, after Tinder was responsible for most of the organization's revenue growth. Statistics showed that there were 3.8 million Tinder users in the second quarter of this year against 1.7 million at the same time in 2017.

More Than Just a Dating App

Tinder U will also use badges, which will be displayed on the user's main profile. The badge displays the user's university information. In addition, Tinder U allows users to swipe left and right to match or match, get cross-matches, view profiles, and enjoy super likes.

Tinder states that his new service is more than just a dating app that allows users to meet other students and fellow students. Tinder U users also have the privilege of wiping for location or tinder picks if they are a Gold member.

The new service comes after Facebook's interest in entering the dating world. Currently, Tinder has at least 50 million users worldwide and 3.8 million subscribers.

The company said its new feature will initially be available for iOS devices. However, Tinder had no timeline of when the app will conquer the Android market.
