Tito Ortiz claims he was offered Mike Tyson Fight: “I’m in!”
Tito Ortiz says he has been contacted by someone he is connected to Mike Tyson build a fight … and tell TMZ Sports directly, “I’m in!”
The 45-year-old UFC Hall of Famer said he had received the call recently after watching some of the new Tyson training videos and believes an inclination to Iron Mike could be “an opportunity of a lifetime”.
Ortiz – an MMA legend – says he doesn’t know if Mike is interested in boxing or a mixed martial arts fight … but he’s either way down.
Tito says he has been boxing as part of his MMA training for 20 years and thinks that at this point in his life he is better in the ring than Mike, who has not been in a professional fight since losing to 2005 Kevin McBride.
Of course, if you saw the new Tyson Training videos … he looks damn good for a 53-year-old.
“Has Tyson been slapped in the face for the past 15 years? No he hasn’t. And I have and I have been able to beat anyone I have played against in the past 4 years.”
It’s true … Tito has had a 3-fight winning streak with victories Chuck Liddell, Chael Suns and Alberto Del Rio.
Tito thinks a fight between Tyson and Ortiz could double the numbers Mayweather made against McGregor … and calls it “an amazing opportunity for our two brands”.
We recently spoke to Mike about the possibility of a Tito fight – and he said he was ready to fight everyone as long as the money was used for charity … but it is clear that nothing is set in stone yet .
