Tom Cruise has truly exceeded his limits during filming Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
The 55-year-old actor is accustomed to performing a variety of incredible, death-defying stunts for his role as Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible movie, but this time he went a little too far – literally , While Cruise jumped off a roof for the movie, Cruise stuck his foot "a hair too long" and ended up breaking his ankle.
"First of all, I was angry," he said exclusively to ET's Carly Steel at the CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where he received the prestigious Will Rogers Pioneer of the Year Award. "I was really angry."
"[My foot was out] just a fraction of a second too long, and I broke the talus, and I knew right away, I said," It's broken, "recalls Cruise.
The stale stunt halted production for nine weeks ̵
" I had all the rest [to do] in the movie, so if you look at the movie, I actually have a broken foot, "said he. "[But] The things I do I do to entertain people. I just thought, I'll do it, no matter what. I will come back and I can run. I have to. "Finish this movie and I have release dates and audience, and I'll make it."
Cruise has definitely made it – and has even weathered another dangerous stunt as he filmed the epic helicopter sequence of the movie Has.
"[I was thinking]" Do not die, please do not make a mistake, do not make a mistake, & # 39; he admitted. "I also act in it as we go through it, so I'm doing something, but under this technical aspect, it's a very risky move."
"The adrenaline flowed, let me say [you]," he said. "We pressed the envelope, I know it." Speaking of Risks: This year, 35 years of Cruise in Risky Business are in front of the camera – but the actor remembers the movie's iconic movie scene was really yesterday. "
" We started playing with it and I just took off my pants and slipped over, and the earlier ones I slipped from one end to the other because the floor was so polished, "he recalls." So I have made a couple of times, I tried to stop in the middle. And then I called the prop guy, [the] put a dresser and said, "Look, give me some spray," and I splashed the floor so I would slip and then I would stop. "
" It got sticky right in the middle frame, so we got the opening frame, "he reveals.
" Over time they say, 'Oh, look at that,' Risky Business with Color of Money or Top Gun and the various roles, and then you just realize that it's suddenly been almost 40 years since I started watching movies Cruise said, "When I made Taps I dreamed if I could do that for the rest of my life. I want to make movies all my life, and now it's happening. Now having spent the greater part of it, "it's really rewarding from my life."
Mission: Impossible – Fallout will hit theaters on July 27th.
