It seemed like a mission that did not make James Corden jump, but Tom Cruise was ready for the challenge!
The 56-year-old action star hosted the Late Late Show 39 to take him 15,000 feet in Perris Valley, California, and the British comedian agreed and aired the clip during the show on Thursday.
"I'm just so impressed that James Parachute will jump," said Cruise. "Between you and me, I half expected him to send me a text message telling me that he would cancel."
"I've been trying to pick him up for the past couple of days, but apparently I had his number wrongly stored in my phone," joked Corden. "So I also want to take the time to apologize to Tom Hiddleston for all the news I've sent him about my food poisoning."
Corden was visibly nervous before Josh Leno was another late-night presenter who was already skydiving in front of the camera.
As they prepared for the jump, Corden created a hand symbol to show if he had soiled himself a dance routine and a symbol for the Late Late Show .
"The worst part of it is that if we both die, I'll get zero press," Corden joked to Cruise. The story will read, "Tom Cruise is dying, even the guy who occasionally drove around in the car was there." When they finally boarded the plane, they called Corden's wife, Julia, and Cruise promised to to take care of them, if something would happen to Corden.
"Do not say that," said Corden into the phone. "What do you mean by a better life?"
Finally, they made the leap, and Corden forgot all the hand movements that while they were rehearsing while Cruise seemed to have a ball in the air, check out the clip to see what happens!
