PS4's latest exclusive version, God of War, was critically acclaimed last week, and now it seems the players are doing well too. The Sony title was ranked # 1 on the UK gaming charts during the week of games on April 11, sending Far Cry 5 to # 2.
Also, God of War claimed the best week of a British sale of a game, The Series displaced the previous record holder God of War 3, which launched in 2010 for PS3. Under Far Cry 5, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life – another exclusive PS4 – ends 3rd in Debut Week. Yakuza 6 breaks its own UK sales records: It becomes the highest profile Yakuza game and broke the record of the series for the first week's sale.

Following its release last week, God of War became the highest-rated exclusive PS4 version of Metacritic. Our own reviewer, Peter Brown, also enjoyed it and gave the PS4 game a 9/10.
"In many ways, God of War was what the show has always been," he wrote. "It's a spectacular action game with epic set pieces, big budget production scores and hard fight that gets fiercer and more impressive as you progress, and what may surprise you is how mature its storytelling has become." Like Kratos, God of War remembers the past and at the same time recognizes that it needs to get better.
