Tornado in Jefferson City: Residents change to social media after a violent storm



After a tornado was ripped through Jefferson City, MO late Wednesday, residents have flooded social media with images and videos showing the anger of the storm.

One resident shared a video showing that the balcony of her apartment had been torn off the Twister and thrown onto the roof of her mother's car.

"My bedroom window is tiled everywhere. They're bad guys, "says Kayleigh De Rosa in the video.

Elyse Smith, KRCG reporter, shared De Rosa's social media video, claiming it was causing "severe structural damage to the Hawthorne Apartments in Jefferson City." [1

9659004] Another user has a snap-chat video shared a timestamp of 00:14 from the Jefferson City area. The clip shows debris on the streets, apparently lit by the red and blue lights of emergency vehicles.

"Very heartbreaking. Many prayers for all have been important tonight, "wrote Christopher Pipkin, an aspiring meteorologist at Missouri State University.

A video claiming to show the funnel of the tornado was shared by another resident.

The Jefferson City Police Department has not confirmed any deaths, but said that several injuries were reported according to Fox 4 from Kansas City.

Missouri Task Force One asks residents of Kansas City Fox 4 reported unless they reported a traumatic injury. The Task Force asks residents not to help clean up the storm at this point.
