Toyota has shown its Corolla Hatchback 2019 and RAV4 SUV at the New York Auto Show, and both new vehicles will be standard with Apple's CarPlay.
Toyota was a long-time CarPlay holdout, but this past January, the company announced the Toyota Avalon 2019 as the first vehicle to support the platform with further announcements.
At the New York Auto Show, Toyota has unveiled the latest vehicles to win CarPlay with 7-8 inches touch screens as standard feature. First comes the new Corolla hatchback with an 8-inch standard display.
Even in the Corolla hatchback, there is no shortage of entertainment and connectivity. For SE, Standard includes Entune 3.0 Audio 8-in. Touch-sensitive screen; six speakers; Apple Carplay; Amazon Alexa integration; Entune 3.0 App Suite Connect; Connect security; Wi-Fi connection; Scout GPS Link compatible; Siri eyes free; Aux audio jack and USB 2.0 port with iPod connection and control; AM / FM; MP3 / WMA playback capability; Speech recognition training and tutorials; Speakerphones; Speech recognition and music streaming via Bluetooth; Customizable home screen; and Weather / Traffic Information on the Entune 3.0 App Suite
Car manufacturers often support both CarPlay and Android Auto. Above all, it looks like Toyota has decided to go connect with Amazon Alexa instead of Google's platform. Read more about the 2010 Corolla hatchback here
As for the RAV4 SUV, Toyota offers a 7-inch display with the same Apple CarPlay and support for Amazon Alexa.
Each RAV4 comes with Entune 3.0 multimedia content, including Verizon Wi-Fi Connect, Amazon Alexa hands-free calling, and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
The standard Entune 3.0 audio system includes inch touch screen, which sits on the middle stack. Entune 3.0 Audio Plus adds an eight-inch touch screen and Sirius XM radio. Entune 3.0 Premium Audio extends the multimedia system with integrated dynamic navigation to help drivers navigate the course.
To enhance its built-in multimedia capabilities, the RAV4 can be equipped with up to five USB ports between the front and rear rows and an optional wireless Qi charging bay positioned on the front of the center console.
