ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Tropical Storm Karen formed during the night, with wind speeds of 65 km / h.
Tropical Storm Karen will hit parts of the Windward Islands on Sunday and Sunday nights.
Tropical storm warnings have been issued for parts of the Windward Islands.
Karen is unlikely to become much more intense in the next few days as she remains disorganized and fighting wind shear. Regardless, a lane in the north and some reinforcement is expected when approaching Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands later this week.
A tropical storm watch for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands may be issued later this Sunday.
The control currents will keep tropical storm Karen off our east coast and at sea as soon as it moves north of the Greater Antilles later this week.
