made by Trump in the morning tweets, escalates the public feud between the president and his longtime fixer. Following a CNN report on Thursday night, Cohen said he was ready to testify that then candidate Trump knew in advance about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting.
"I knew nothing of the meeting with my son, Don jr," Trump stated on Twitter Friday morning.
He suggested Cohen without naming him and said, "Sounds to me like someone trying to make up stories to get himself out of an unrelated jam (taxi cabs maybe?). He even kept Bill and Crooked Hillary's lawyer, Gee, I wonder if they helped him make the choice! "
One of Cohen's lawyers is Lanny Davis, a longtime Clinton's friend and adviser.

Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and others have repeatedly said that the president knew nothing about the Trump Tower 2016 meeting until he was questioned by reporters about it in July 2017.
CNN reported that Cohen claims he was present along with a few others when Trump was informed in 2016 about the Russians' offer by Trump Jr. Cohen told the people that Trump has agreed to continue with t he meets with the Russians.
There are apparently no tapes or documents to support Cohen's report. But his interest in discussing his memories of Trump's previous knowledge of the meeting was confirmed to the Washington Post by a person familiar with Cohen's thinking.
Cohen's credibility was immediately challenged on Thursday night by the current lawyer of the president, Rudolph W. Giuliani. The former New York mayor said in an interview late Thursday that Cohen "is not believable at all, and there are witnesses who know what he claims is not true."
Giuliani refused to name the witnesses. When asked if Trump would be willing to talk to the Special Adviser Robert S. Muller III about the Russian meeting, Giuliani said, "I still have doubts about the people around Mueller," and said the president's team was undecided to a conversation with federal investigators on this topic and others.
"The President is ready to talk about everything, but it would be wrong to subdue him," said Giuliani, adding that the Russian meeting "did not turn up in our talks" with Mueller and his team.
Giuliani said that if Cohen goes for a pardon by threatening to testify about the meeting in June 2016, "this is a stupid way." 19659016] "I do not want the President to consider an apology but you do not get by lying, "he said
Davis said earlier this week that Cohen is not seeking an apology. Davis declined to comment on the CNN report on Thursday night. Stephen Ryan, a lawyer who until recently represented Cohen, also declined to comment.
At Trump Tower 2016, Trump Jr. met his brother-in-law Jared Kushner and Trump's former campaign chairman. Paul Manafort. There were several Russian natives in the room, including Natalia Veselnitskaya, a lawyer with connections to the Kremlin.
After breaking news about the meeting in July 2017, the Trump team initially offered a misleading explanation of the meeting. A first statement stated that the participants had mainly discussed the adoption of Russian orphans in the United States.
The official story changed later.
Testimony and documents revealed that the meeting came from an email from a music journalist to Trump Jr "The Trump campaign promised" some official documents and information "that were" very high-level and sensitive information, but part of Russia and his government are supporting Trump. "
Trump Jr. announced: [I] It's what you say, I love it." He wanted to talk to the wealthy Moscow businessman and entertainer, Emin Agalarov, the publisher's client, before he set out details.
But Trump Jr., the president and assistant of the White House, insisted that President Trump had previously been unaware of the meeting, was not informed at the time, and only learned about it a year later when he was notified by the New York Times was addressed.
Trump Jr. testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee last year that his father did not know about the meeting with the Russians.
"My father did not know about the meeting or these events," he said in a statement released on July 9. 2017.
Democrats were skeptical of his report, pointing to phone calls from Trump Jr. on June 6, 2016, which they believe could show that Trump's son had informed his father in advance about the meeting. At 4:04 pm That day, telephone directories show that Agalarov Trump Jr.'s call took up to 2 minutes.
Telephone records show then that Trump Jr. called Agalarov at 16:31. But between those two phone calls, phone records show that Trump Jr. was connected to a phone number that was locked in files.
Trump Jr. told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he could not remember who he was talking to then, but others testified that his father, Donald Trump, used a blocked line.
His lawyer, Alan Futerfas, issued a statement Thursday night: "Donald Trump Jr. has been professional and responsible throughout Mueller and Congressional investigations, and we are very confident in the accuracy and reliability of the information provided by Mr. Trump, Jr.
Democratic lawmakers have pointed out that Trump has announced plans to hold a "big speech" over Clinton's scandal two days before the meeting in the Trump Tower. Trump Jr. says he did not get any dirt at the meeting – and the promised speech never happened.
On Twitter Friday morning, Trump also struck the Mueller probe and suggested without proof that it was indeed Democrats and not his own campaign that had collaborated with Russia to meddle in the 2016 elections.
"The only collusion with Russia was with the Democrats, so they are now watching my tweets (along with 53 million other people) – the manipulated witch hunt continues! How dumb and unfair for our country", tweeted .
